Passion Nativity

The Passion Crib, also known as the Lenten Crib or Easter Crib, has a long tradition in the Alpine region. The Passion Crib visually depicts the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The carved figures of the Passion Crib are lovingly handcrafted from mountain maple wood, left in their natural state or hand-painted with oil colors.

In the past, the Easter Crib was widely known but unfortunately fell into oblivion over time. In recent years, however, the Passion Crib has regained significance and is displayed in many households during the Easter season. Children, in particular, are fascinated by the beautifully carved wooden figures of the Passion Crib.
